Fall Quarter 07
|
| |
September 25- Our first general meeting was held where new members were introduced to the club and new business was discussed: Dates for trail rides were voted on, information for working at Congress was presented, sign up sheets for the State 4-H Groom and Clean food booth and New Albany Classics were passed out. |

October 9th- The second meeting was held at the OSU horse barn where new members were given a tour of the facility, upcoming events were discussed during our cook out and the annual Groom and Clean contest was held! |
| |
October 23rd- A general meeting was held in the Animal Science Arena where the committees met and discussed new ideas, the OSU barn open house sign up sheets were passed out and a date for the Horsemen's trip to congress was set. |

November 13th- A general meeting was held in the Animal Science Arena. Volunteering opportunities for Operation Christmas Child were presented, members signed up for various activities and committees met and discussed relevant ideas. |

November 27th- The last general meeting of the quarter was held where members gathered for a potluck, discussed the upcoming clinic details and starting asking for donations for our silent auction! Happy Holidays everyone! |

Winter Quarter 08 |
| |
January 15th- The first general meeting of the quarter where we discussed our clinic, designed clinic tee-shirts, signed up for food booths and clinic rotations and discussed scholarship donations. All the while everyone enjoyed pizza! |
| |
January 22nd- The second general meeting of the quarter was held at the animal science building. Final decisions and preparations for the clinic were made; including member rotations, food preparation, and horse use. |

January 29th- General members met at the OSU horse barn to prepare the barn for the clinic. |
| |
February 2nd- The annual Horsemen's Clinic was a success! All five clinicians gave great presentations to the public: Kay Tracy, Jennifer Moshier, Marc Sulc, Chris Whightman and Terry Myers. The silent auction was also a success as well as the food booth. A big thanks to all our sponsors, clinicians, and general members who helped out! |

February 12th- Meeting candled due to weather |

February 26th- A general meeting was held with updates on the food booths, Spring Trips, community service activities and future events. A thanks goes out to our guess speakers Melissa Ruppert and Brianne Matthews for their presentation on the Equine Affaire and volunteer information as well as the Beanie Drake Scholarship representative. |

Spring Quarter 08 |
| |
March 25th- The first general meeting for spring quarter was held where we discussed holding a food booth and helping out at the first annual Buckeye Bonanza Horse Sale coming up on April 5th at the Ohio State Horse Barn. Also, we discussed the upcoming State Horse Bowl Contest, volunteering at Equine Affaire, spring trips and Relay for Life. |

April 8th- The second general meeting was held where we discussed new business such as Scarlet and Gray Ag Day on April 25th, BASE day on April 26th. We decided to hold officer nominations for the next general meeting and officer elections on May 13th during the general meeting (we will be having pizza!). Kentucky Derby was canceled due to lack of interest and a Buffalo Wild Wing Derby social and Rock the Block (an OSU community service project) was added on instead on May 3rd. May 10th was the date decided on to volunteer at Last Chance Corral as well as a spring trail ride at Smoke Rise Ranch. |

April 10th-14th- Equine Affaire was a success! Thanks for volunteering and a special thanks to Melissa Ruppert for all of her help and coordination. Friday night Fantasia was a great time for all those who volunteered! |

April 22nd- A general meeting was held where officers were nominated and new business such as Last Chance Corral, Relay for Life, Horse Sense of the Carolinas and Rock the Block were discussed. Officer elections will be held on May 13th during the general meeting! |

April 25-27th- Horsemens' members headed out to West Virginia for white water rafting on the New River and trail riding in the woods of West Virginia. |
| |
May 10th- Horsemens' members headed out to Last Chance Corral to volunteer with the nurse mare foals. We cleaned out the foal barn, helped put up fence posts and bathed foals to get ready for the adoption visitors. After a morning of hard work, we headed out to Smoke Rise Ranch to enjoy the afternoon on the trails! |

May 13th- A general meeting was held where office elections took place. Congratulations to all the new executive members! Also, thanks to those members for stepping up to fill all of the positions. |

May 27th- The last general meeting was held out at the OSU Equine Facility where new officers lead the meeting, we discussed volunteer opportunities for fall quarter, old business and enjoyed a cookout! |
